BLUE NECKLACE (2012)

After a month long residency in Tokyo, I reflected on objects, materials and techniques I had seen there. Blue Necklace continued my explorations of meditative paces of repetitive work, creating each bead by hand, and stringing the resulting parts together. This contains around 800 hand cut, sanded, dyed and polished beads made from reclaimed maple wood and strung in a traditional formation.
